DI Water Filter Important Information
Most aesthetic laser and IPL machines use water to cool the system, and this water flows through key components such as the laser head, the flash lamp, the rod, and the flow tubes to prevent overheating. A DI (deionized) water filter keeps the water ions at a negative charge and removes dissolved solids from the water. This negative charge helps stop positively charged ions from building up. As a result, it helps protect the machine from electrical static and shocks.
Minerals such as calcium, magnesium, and sodium can leave residue in the machine over time. Therefore, the DI water filter works alongside the particle filter to keep the water clean. Only part of the water passes through the DI filter before entering the machine, while the rest flows in directly. For this reason, keeping every component in good condition helps you avoid costly parts and repairs down the road.
