How a Candela Flash Lamp Works

The laser head of your aesthetic laser machine houses the Candela flash lamp. The lamp creates energy at a predetermined setting. It then fires that energy into other components of the laser head, such as the rod and optics, making it small enough to enter the hand unit.

From there, the energy travels through additional optics. These optics adjust the size of the laser before it contacts the treatment area.

Why Flash Lamps Fail

A failure in any of these components can cause the flash lamp to stop working. Therefore, keep dust out of these components. Dust can burn the laser head rod, flash lamp, or flow tubes.

Excessive pressure or a leak in the laser head can also stop the flash lamp from working. Additionally, a faulty power supply or capacitor can cause electrical imbalances in your machine, which can damage or burn the flash lamp.

A significant decrease in power can mean that the laser flash lamp no longer works efficiently and needs replacement. If you are unsure which component needs repair, you can send your machine to us for a free diagnosis.
